Land Art at Expo: an opportunity for all world’s artists


Fondazione Triulza and Associazione Arte in Cascina launch today an International Call dedicated to artists in order to create a work of land art to be exhibited in the Civil Society Pavilion.

Kicks off the Land Art in Cascina international Call promoted by Fondazione Triulza and Associazione Arte in Cascina. The goal of the call is to select 5 artists that will carry out works of Land Art, art made ​​with natural materials or set outdoor in the nature, to be exhibited in Cascina Triulza – the Civil Society Pavilion of Expo Milano 2015 and in 4 natural parks close to Expo 2015 site.

The Call wants to engage the art world in a “bottom up” planning that could reach artistic proposals and reflections to stimulate Expo Milano 2015’s audience, through creativity, greater sensitivity on the issue of environmental sustainability, one of the most important in the context of Expo 2015.

A committee will select five works of Land Art or Art Nature that tell visually the intersection between art and nature through an artistic product.

The term “Land Art” or “Art Nature” refers to the creation of artistic works with the use of natural materials such as branches, wood , straw , etc., and in the surrounding nature: a language and a creative proposal able to create a report harmony between human beings and nature. Land Art will help to make the experience of visiting Cascina Triulza interesting and unexpected, engaging the public in a cultural and stimulating artistic experience as well as educational and entertaining.

The winning artwork – named “Cascina Triulza” – has to be iconographic and representative of Expo Milano 2015 main theme, its declination of the Civil Society Pavilion – Cascina Triulza as well as mirroring the concept of land art. The work of Land Art ” Cascina Triulza ” will be carried out between the months of April and May and will be installed into the Civil Society Pavilion courtyard, in a space called “Orchard” , next to the picnic area .
There will be also a selection of four additional projects – the “Premi Parco” – which will be set up by the artists in four parks of significant natural interest close to Expo: Bosco WWF Vanzago; Bosco in Città – Italia Nostra, Milan; Parco del Ticino and Lagoi Maggiore; Scuola Agraria del parco di Monza. These artworks will be carried out between the months of April and July 2015 .
