Marmomac 2018

Scheduled from September 26th to 29th 2018 the 53rd international exhibition dedicated to marble , technology and design returns and was presented yesterday at a press conference in Milan (Terrazza Martini).
The new event will be more international with a focus on Miami and the launch of a network of marble ambassadors as well as being increasingly interactive with a new web portal dedicated to architects and now also attentive to the worlds of art and designers. These are some of the new features that Marmomac announced in anticipation of the appointment with its 53rd edition lined up for the Verona Exhibition Centre. The commercial opportunities related to natural stone are still at the centre of the show which has been divided into marketing categories that have been redefined this year in order to be more stringent and rational. These categories are marble, stone, granite, agglomerates and conglomerates, marble blocks, rough stone and large formats, machinery and processing equipment, means of transport and lifting, abrasives, diamonds, chemical products and services.

Marmomac is one of our most important business events” explains Maurizio Danese, president of VeronaFiere. “In today’s world it is the absolute benchmark for sector trade fairs. This can be seen from the high level of satisfaction expressed by our exhibitors compared to our competitors and the fact that more than four months before the start, the over 80 thousand square metres of Marmomac exhibition space have already been sold out, with a waiting list of more than 40 companies and requests for at least another thousand square metres, of which 90% are from foreign companies”.
This leading role has been recognized by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development since 2015, with the inclusion of Marmomac in the exceptional Made in Italy Promotion Plan as a strategic trade event for the enhancement of the country’s stone industry.
As part of the planned initiatives, Marmomac’s collaboration with Ice-Italian Trade Agency and Confindustria Marmomacchine continues throughout 2018 in terms of incoming activities featuring foreign operators. Over 300 top buyers have been selected, invited and hosted in Verona in order to take part in thematic b2b meetings, technical training sessions and visits to local companies.
Added to this is the return of the International Stone Summit, one of the world’s leading marble association events.
Internationality is one of the key words in understanding the success of Marmomac”says Giovanni Mantovani, general manager of VeronaFiere. “We have created a of natural stone community that can also count on the events we organize in mature and developing markets such as the United States, Brazil, Egypt and Morocco. This is a network that we want to strengthen this year with the creation of marble ambassadors, to spread knowledge and use of this stone, and also through Miami Calling, an initiative in partnership with the magazine Platform to enhance and develop real estate opportunities in Florida”.

Innovation, design and training are fundamental aspects for trade development within the event. One of these concepts is represented at Marmomac by the exhibitions featured in The Italian Stone Theatre, the hall that combines research, experimentation, stone and Italian technologies. The theme for the 2018 edition is Acqua e Pietra (Water and Stone) and this year sees the debut of a feature dedicated to artists in order to enhance the dialogue between water and stone materials in environments intended for hospitality and well-being.
Another new feature is the exhibition in which leading brands from the worlds of furniture and design such as Baxter, Swarovski and the Luxury Living Group create specific projects for marble companies.
There is also a vast amount of space dedicated to architects who arrive in Verona from all over the world and for whom training and updating courses have been reserved at the Marmomac Academy. In addition there is a brand new web portal custom made by designers who use marble and who represent an increasingly widespread trend since 88% of architects who visit the event indicate that this particular stone will feature in their future projects.
Finally, the two Marmomac awards also return. The Icon Award identifies the piece of work from The Italian Stone Theatre which will become the image of the 2019 promotional campaign, while the Best Communicator Award recognizes the care and originality demonstrated by the best exhibiting companies in terms of stand layout and display.
