The DIGITALART collection by Ceramica Sant’Agostino conquered China with the 2016/2017 GS Design Award.
From July to April 2017, 21 showrooms of G.e.t. Casa, located throughout the territory of China, have been hosting the project 2016-2017 G.e.t. Casa x Sant’Agostino Design Award – GSDA. The prize is intended for the representatives of the world of Chinese design and architecture. It is designed to create a direct connection to the entire indigenous design sector and allow Chinese designers and architects to show the world their own masterpieces.
Born from a collaboration between Ceramica Sant’Agostino, Italian leader in the ceramic industry, and the Chinese dealer G.e.t. Casa, the contest involved three levels of more than 1,000 Chinese architects and designer who had the task of creating real works of art on an exceptional canvas: the DIGITALART collection, already awarded the prestigious ADI Ceramics Design Award and Architizer A + Jury Award. For the whole duration of the contest, the showrooms G.e.t. Casa were transformed into unusual art galleries where the designers completed in live performance dressing a tile DIGITALART White – in size 20×20 cm, created on purpose – with their own style.
The works have been competing to three Awards: the Best Product Design Award, the Most Creative Design Asia Award and the Most Popular Asia Award.
Best Product Design Award and Most Creative Design Asia Award
The top two scores selected by the jury in each of the regions hosting the 21 showrooms have been competing for the Best Product Design Award and the Most Creative Design Award Asia.
The selection of the 42 finalists have been entrusted to three exceptional jurors: Luisa Bocchietto – famous architect, President of ICSID (International Council of Societies of Industrial Design) and past President of ADI (Association for Industrial Design), Simona Finessi – founder and CEO of ARCHMARATHON awards, one of the most important international awards for architecture and Publisher and Editor in Chief and Editorial PLATFORM architecture & Design, and Roberta Mutti – senior architect and blogger with a passion for Marketing and Promotion.
Most Popular Asia Award
More than a thousand images of the works have been uploaded on the WeChat platform of G.e.t. Casa to choosing the winner of the Most Popular Asia Award. Besides, three lucky voters have been selected by drawing lots and they will get a voucher of 10,000 RMB each by G.e.t. Casa.
The works of the first forty classified will be digitalized into 3D illustrations and will become the protagonists of locations by Ceramica Sant’Agostino inspired to the contract world.

The award ceremony will take place during Milano Design Week 2017 – on April, 6th from 8 pm – in H2Otto, the Ceramica Sant’Agostino exhibition space located in Milan, via Crocefisso 27, and specialized in solutions for designing bathrooms.
With this project Ceramica Sant’Agostino reinforces the concept “+Art: we don’t just interpret materials, we create ceramics” in an international context of high level and confirms the revolution brought in the ceramic world by DIGITALART collection.
